Parent Activities
Events & Programs
Building a strong partnership with our parents is a top priority at IPELC. To do that, we host a variety of fun and interactive events throughout the year where our parents can enjoy time with their children, meet their teachers and classmates, and network with other IPELC families.
These family activities and appreciation events include:
Holiday Program: Get your camera phones ready! This fun production offers plenty of special moments to capture on video. Our students get to memorize lines and perform as a way to build social skills and self-esteem. You may just discover you have a little actor on your hands.
Mommy & Me: There’s nothing stronger than a mother-child bond. So we invite our moms into the classroom to share in a typical learning day and to spend some quality time together making a keepsake to take home. Moms also have the opportunity to observe and assess their child’s development in their school setting.
Daddy & Me: At IPELC, we love to see dads in our classrooms! We have a special day where they’re encouraged to join us and participate with their child in our daily routines. Their presence is invaluable – it’s proven beneficial to long-term self-esteem and a sense of support.
Literacy Night: “Today a reader, tomorrow a leader!”* We host a family reading night at IPELC with interactive activities to help foster a love of reading in our parents and children. Family literacy is so important to creating a strong foundation for children’s learning experiences.
Halloween Bash: IPELC families are invited to our annual pumpkin party designed for little ones to celebrate the spooky holiday in a safe environment. Teachers and students are encouraged to dress-up in appropriate costumes and enjoy Halloween movies and spookalicious treats.
Trike-A-Thon: Each year, IPELC participates in a Trike-A-Thon fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our students learn riding toy safety lessons while raising money to help end childhood cancer.
Annual Block Party: We’ve been providing high-quality childcare for more than 20 years to our community and we couldn’t have done it without their support. At the start of the school year we show our appreciation by inviting our families and the neighborhood to join us for a big celebration, complete with lots of food, arts and crafts, games, and music.
Annual Open House: Prospective parents have the opportunity to learn about IPELC’s learning through play philosophy, tour our nurturing and stimulating classrooms, meet our highly-trained teachers and staff, and ask questions about our creative programs and spacious facilities.
Graduation: It’s time for little caps and gowns! Graduation is the most important day of the year for IPELC students and staff. We’re bursting with pride over our children’s accomplishments and their completion of our interactive learning programs. We know we have prepared them to succeed in the next chapters of their development.
